• Have a valid teaching certificate and be qualified to assist students specifically in their core trouble areas, but also assist with homework in other areas where appropriate.
• Have actual classroom experience and be able to demonstrate an understanding of how classroom work relates to work done at home.
• Be able and willing to maintain regular contact with students' classroom teachers for the purpose of tracking student progress and aligning at-home instruction with what is being taught in the classroom.
• Pass a criminal background check.

As a client, you can expect your tutor to:

• Arrive on time each week for tutoring sessions unless otherwise agreed-upon prior to the session.
• Devote his or her full attention to the student during the session.
• Be in possession of your child's testing results, and to use these results to guide your child's instruction.
• Maintain regular contact with your child's classroom teacher(s).
• Maintain records of tutoring sessions and content discussed.
• Provide, at your request, feedback on your student's performance during tutoring sessions.
